Famitsu spoke with Platinum Games Producer Atsushi Inaba about the company’s history since its formation in 2006, and in the interview Inaba revealed their next multiplatform title, Max Anarchy.
While not formally announced — only a few vague tidbits and a single screenshot were shared with Famitsu — the interview does give some details on just what type of game it will be. As you would likely suspect, action is at the core of the game but this time it’s said to be melee-focused; as Inaba put it in the interview, Max Anarchy is a “Massively Multiplayer Melee Fighting Action” game.
The screenshot shown in Famitsu shows characters beating each other down with chainsaws and, apparently, torches. Additionally, MadWorld lead character Jack is said to be playable in the game, this time in full color.
Publisher SEGA will be bringing Max Anarchy to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime later this year in Japan.
