Rumor: Halo: Combat Evolved remake coming this year

Rumors were stirring about a couple of months back that Halo: Combat Evolved would be getting a remake using the Halo: Reach engine. Well, it turns out the former just might be true, but the latter isn’t.

According to Joystiq’s sources, the 1080p, 3D-supported remake will use all-new art assets rather than simply being upscaled and, as mentioned above and contrary to previous rumors, it will apparently not use the Halo: Reach engine, but it’s not known at the moment what engine it will use, be it unique or not.

According to their sources, details are still being worked out for the multiplayer features, but online co-op is currently planned.

The title is apparently being developed by Saber Interactive under supervision from 343 Industries and, according to Joystiq’s source, will be out November 15, the ten year anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved.
